Barbara A. Trenary, CIH, is an expert Certified Industrial Hygienist with more than 25 years of experience. The senior technical and operations management positions that Ms. Trenary has held at four Fortune 400 companies have instilled technical accuracy, value engineering, and broad perspective to her work. She specializes in indoor air quality (IAQ), fungal (mold) assessments, comprehensive industrial hygiene, environmental remediation management, and emergency preparedness. She also provides IH and Hazcom training for a broad range of work environments.
Ms. Trenary has provided IH program evaluation, environmental project management, anthrax sampling, and waste handling services for the DOE and DOD. Her private sector experience base includes field work and consulting related to IAQ in large buildings and homes, at major environmental remediation sites, and for the manufacturing, construction, aircraft maintenance, oil refining, steel, wood treatment, chemical, and pesticide industries. She has extensive project management and litigation support experience in mold, asbestos, lead (and other heavy metals), and volatile organic compounds. She has trained over 1000 students in Hazardous Worker Operations (HAZWOPER) and chemical handling classes.
Ms. Trenary has been continuously certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene since 1987. She holds a B.S. degree from Colorado State University in Industrial Hygiene (concentration in chemistry). Ms. Trenary has held positions as President of Nuclear Operations for American Ecology, Health and Safety Manager at Hewlett Packard, Manager of EH&S at Morrison Knudsen and Fluor Daniel, and Chief Operating Officer of the largest industrial hygiene firm in Seattle.
